About
Rebecca Reid is a soprano based in Belfast, specialising in oratorio and recital. She is available for concert and choral engagements across Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Her voice has been shaped by more than twenty years of serious private study. Since 2014 she has studied with Michelle Wegwart, whose career spanned the Opéra Bastille, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Zurich Opera, and the Salzburg Festival. Earlier teachers include Elizabeth Varnham-Phillips and Faye Newton. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Music from the University of Leeds and a Master of Arts in Music from the University of York.
Her repertoire is rooted in the oratorio canon — the sacred and choral works of Handel, Bach, Mozart, Fauré, and Stanford — with a particular interest in the sacred music of Northern Ireland.
She is currently building her concert profile in Northern Ireland and Ireland, and welcomes enquiries from choral societies, conductors, and concert promoters.
